Mykonos, Page 3 ..
Yesterday, we promised pelicans .. and pelicans you're gonna get ..
Petros, the islands pelican mascot and good luck charm, still wanders around. This isnt the original Petros, of course, but so what.
If you can count to two, you'll see that Petros is no longer limited to one, either.
One thing that hasn't changed is the shopping. Ive made only a couple of purchases.
A gorgeous medallion, a replica of an ancient Greek coin with the head of Apollo. Its handmade in 18 and 22 karat gold and I may never take it off.
And a fleece jacket, because I needed something warmer than my sweater to cut the chill wind from the sea ..
There are churches on Mykonos .. no cathedrals ..
They say there are 365 of these small, private, family churches on the island, one for each day of the year. The scandalous truth may be that there are only 364. We counted 12 of them within a radius of 100 feet at one spot near the harbor.
The food's as great as ever. Our culinary report, and more, coming up.
